On 12 August 2015, a series of explosions killed 173 people and injured hundreds of others at a container storage station at the Port of Tianjin. The first two explosions occurred within 30 seconds of each other at the facility, which is located in the Binhai New Area of Tianjin, China. The second explosion was far larger and involved the detonation of about 800 tonnes of ammonium nitrate (336 tons TNT equivalent). These explosion chemicals included hundred tons of toxic chemicals such as sodium cyanide, ammonium nitrate, potassium nitrate, dichloromethane and other various chemicals. Fires caused by the initial explosions continued to burn uncontrolled throughout the weekend, resulting in eight additional explosions on 15 August. Of the 173 fatalities, 104 were firefighters. The final casualty report was 173 deaths, 8 missing, and 798 non-fatal injuries.

Once we confirmed the contract referred geosynthetics material and installation service supply with one Tianjin bureau. Our company urgently transferred 22 experienced installers from our each project onsite in many provinces to Tianjin explosions accident onsite. In order to prevent these toxic chemical solid and liquid polluting earth, air and groundwater in the shortest time, our installation team was needed to work for 24 hours without no break in turn. Our company supplied more than 100 thousand square meters of YINGFAN 2.0mm HDPE geomembrane and 600gsm PET filament nonwoven geotextile to construct this emergency rescue project. After our 24 hours running hard work, this lining project was completed within one week.
